I am a certified Home-Stager. I followed the House of Kiki training and joined the CNVV network (Central Dutch Network For Home-Stagers).

Some years ago, selling your house was easy as it was a sellers’ market. You just had to put a For Sale sign, no need for anything else. But times have changed and it's now a buyers’ market, which make it easy for buyers who can be difficult and look for the ideal house at the ideal price. In that very competitive market, it has become essential to present your house the best way possible. That's what Home-Staging does.

As a Home-Stager, I look at your house with a fresh and objective eye, and I roll up my sleeves and start working immediately on your house to transform it to a "model house" so that it will bring you more visitors. Because no visitor means no buyer. This metamorphose makes the house more attractive. Because it makes it more neutral for example, and thereby attractive to a larger public. It thereby increases the chances for its current owner to find a buyer. Because a potential buyer needs to be able to picture himself in the house. If it's not the case, for instance because there's a wall painted with a bright red color on the living-room, and the visitor does not like red, then it's a missed opportunity. Unless he indeed likes red... It is much easier for a potential buyer to picture himself in the house and think "I would like to change the colors, or the decoration" when the colors are neutral, whereas it is much more difficult to picture himself in a house which is (often) too busy, with rooms that sometimes have no proper function, and with colors that he would not have picked...

After this metamorphose, it is equally important to make sure that the pictures that are taken and that will be decisive for the first impression (and you only get one chance to make a first good impression...) look professional, that they clearly show the possibilities of the rooms and their functions.

I am not proposing to prepare a detailled report of the things you need to change in your house. Instead I propose to get my hands dirty and to work with minimal means for the optimal result that your house deserves.
